Our mission to raise kids with self worth is in the DNA of everything we create. It’s also in our Articles of Incorporation.
On January 25, 2022, Prodigi Kids officially became a CA Benefit Corporation making it possible for us to always be guided by our impact of raising kids with self worth.
What’s a Benefit Corporation?
The purpose of a benefit corporation is to create “general public benefit” which is defined as a material positive impact on society and the environment.
It’s a legal structure that embeds shareholder governance into its business foundation, ensuring its impact comes first.
There are 43 states which recognize this type of business form which merges the traditional for profit business corporate model with a nonprofit mission model by allowing social entrepreneurs to consider interests beyond just maximizing shareholder wealth.
Our Legal Obligations
Under CA Corporations Code Sections 14600 et seq., the Directors and Officers of a Benefit Corporation
are required to operate the business to consider its impact on others in addition to profits.
